Dar is a commoner by birth, son of a solider and a dairy maid. These three are thrown together to take on the impossible sounding quest of journeying to the Dragon's graveyard to use the power there for their own means. Sharlin is going to try and raise Turiana from the dead and be sent back home; Dar needs a dragon's claw to sever the bond that Valorek has made with him; Thurgood wants desperately to destroy all dragons so that no one will have to suffer what he has suffered. All of them have their own aims, all of them will need to work together to accomplish them - but who will triumph?
