science fiction

This is the very first episode, where we learn that our hero (whose name we never really learn) is a British spy who gets gassed and wakes up in a village. At first he wanders around and doesn't realize he's a prisoner--after all, there are no fences or guards.

But then he realizes there's no communication with or transport to the outside world, and if he tries to escape he's stopped by a vicious growling white balloon (What is it? That would be telling).

Our hero, who's given the number 6, meets number 2, who runs the village, and says he's been brought there to reveal his secrets, foremost of which why he resigned.

"You won't get it!" says Number 6, in his most famous line.

Analysis: A good episode, it sets things up, and it makes the Village a very creepy place. But what's with the butler? How come he never talks? And why don't they just lock Number 6 in a cell and interrogate him in whatever way and for however long they like?
