Review Summaries
"An airborne virus infects the entire world, killing most, but turning many of the survivors into vampires.
Robert, a scientist and doctor, seems to be the only survivor due to an immunity in his blood. At night he barricades himself in his house and during the day he hunts for and kills every vampire he can find.
Just when Robert begins to crack from the loneliness, he finds a dog. But, the dog is infected so Robert kills it and buries it.
While Robert is out he finds a woman, Ruth. He takes her to his house for safety. He discovers that she is also infected, but only mildly so.
Ruth informs him that their is a whole society of people like her. She tells him that her people hate and fear him and wish to kill him because some of the vampires he killed were some of them.
Robert gives Ruth an infusion with his blood, curing her and making her immune. Now, together, they can cure everyone.
However, before they can inform the others they attack. "

"The worst plague in history has turned everyone into vampire like zombies. That is, except Vincent Price, who portrays scientist Robert Morgan. As the "last man on earth," Morgan lives day-to-day dispatching the "undead," and reflecting on past events leading him to his lonely plight. His flashbacks focus on him (and a small group of scientists) desperately trying to find a vaccine while friends and loved ones fall to the plague. Little does he know that he carries the cure to mankind. "

"Vincent Price stars in this AIP production of Richard Matheson's classic novel "I Am Legend" as Robert Morgan, the sole survivor of a world-wide plague that has turned everyone else into vampires. Shot in Italy on a low budget, it has many creepy moments. This version is faithful to the source material unlike the far less successful "The Omega Man". Scenes of Price going about his somber daily routine are most effective. "
