Review Summary
Antoine de Saint-Exupery tells a lovely story about a downed pilot, who, lost in a desert while trying to fix his plane, meets a magical little boy, The Little Prince, who lives on a tiny asteroid far away and comes to Earth. He asks the pilot to draw him a sheep, to eat the baobabs that threaten his beloved rose. The little boy charms the pilot, telling him gradually of his adventures as he journeys to Earth, meeting the King, The Businessman, the Scientist, the Drunk, the Lamplighter, and the Fox, who he tames with love. It is a wonderful parable on what is really important--the love, innocence, and wonder of a child.
Tina Loflin, Resident Scholar
