Review Summary
Geppetto, a kindly but lonely puppet maker, longs for a real boy. His wishes come true one night when he awakens to find, with great alarm, that puppet Pinocchio is walking and talking. Thence begin the adventures of Pinnocchio. A beautiful fairy tells him what he must do to become a real boy. Accompanied by his sidekick, the dashing, crooner voiced Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio ventures out into the provincial Italian town, and overcomes the perils of temptation, sloth, vice, and fear, making him worthy, in the end, to be what humble Geppetto dreamed of all along, a son of his own.

Sixty years before Drew Carey helped bring this classic tale to life, Disney put its own animated magic in Pinocchio. The title character starts out as a wooden puppet whose nose grows every time he tells a lie, but he learns his lesson and becomes a real boy! Jiminy Cricket and Gepetto are also featured here, and there is a fantastic scene in which they chase Monstro the whale. The film also features the song When You Wish Upon a Star.
