Review Summaries
"The Honor of the Queen is the second book of the Honor Harrington series. Honor has a new ship (heavy cruiser Fearless) and a new mission: escort Admiral Corvosier and a convoy of 'gifts' to Grayson (a prospective ally against the Peeps), but there is a problem. Grayson has been cut off from the rest of Human civilisation for centuries and has evolved a unique way of life and a special way of governing that relies heavily on personal loyalty to a leige lord. When Honor arrives in system she is shunned as unatural and finds her mission much harder than anticipated. On Grayson women are cared for and cherished, they are never put in danger and Honor is an affront to their male dominated society. Honor must represent her Queen and is determined to ignore numerous insults given her by the Graysons, but it is hopeless. In an effort to aid the Admiral's mission, she pulls out of the system hoping he will have more luck with her out of the way. He does, which annoys Corvosier no end. While Honour is gone the Medusans (medusa is a world colonised by Grayson dissidents) attack Grayson, destroy its fledgling navy, and kill Corvosier. When Honor returns and is attacked, she reacts as her training demands and blows the attacking ship into itty bitty pieces. When she descends on Grayson in order to chastise its navy for attacking her, the full horror of her situation becomes known. Her mentor (Corvosier) is dead, and she has only three ships to defend Grayson against a Peep led Medusan fleet. Will she and the Graysons survive? Read Honor of the Queen and find out!"
