science fiction

This was one of THE BEST episode! A giant insect who feeds on discord comes aboard (shades of Star Trek's "Day of the Dove"), and causes the gang to hallucinate and become aggressive and hostile towards each other--since these are normal circumstances, it takes a while for the crew to notice something is wrong.

It was fun watching Creighton decide he needed to shoot Dargo in the leg, and getting advice from Scorpius who, in a Hawaiian shirt, advised him to shoot Aeryn so they could go out and get "pizza and margaruerta shooters".

Also great was the scene where Creighton captured and tied up the others, one by one, and then explained to them what was happening in derogatory terms, shooting crackers near them and covering them with the debris. It was also fun watching the normally mild mannered Pilot admit that no, he didn't really need or like the passengers on Moya.

And finally, the scene where Creighton kills the bug was amusing too. No "can we negotiate, find out what it wants", no "maybe there's a more humane way.", it's simply "time to impale the bug!"

Great episode.
