Review Summaries
"Keladry is the first girl to become a knight since the Lioness Alanna. As Keladry sets out to the borders of Scanra to take place in The Great War she is placed in command of the refuge camp. As the people come to fear and respect her they learn to defend their camp. When Keladry reports to Lord Wyldon her camp is attacked and her people enslaved. As Keladry sets off against her orders to free her people and take revenge. "

"Keladry of Mindelan has just turned into a Lady Knight; in the night of her Ordeal she has a vision of a mage killing/taking children to turn their spirits into deadly killer metal machines. She is in the middle of a magic battle where there are immortals such as dragons, stormwings, gryffins, flying horses of all sizes, and human monsters such as a man she silently calls The Nothing Man. When the chamber made from the gods tells her to catch The Nothing Man, she has to face all kinds of dangers to rescue the chidren from him."
Myazaki, Resident Tamora Pierce Scholar

"Keladry of Mindelan is just knighted and is commander of a refuge but a magician known to Kel as The Nothing Man steals little children to make magical machines that kill at command. Secretly Kel tries to get the children back but finds that it is harder than it seems."

"Lady Knight Keladry of Mindelan has survived the challenges of knight training and is now the second Lady Knight in the realm. But she feels discriminated against when she is sent to command a refugee camp instead of sent to battle. She soon learns that this is not a dirty job and she uses her commanding skills to help the camp flourish. The only problem is; Kel knows that a genius mage is using dead children to power his super-strong killing machines. When her enemy's soldiers capture the children of her camp, it is up to her to save them, but can Kel do it alone?"
CoolPD, Resident Tamora Pierce Scholar

"Keladry is only the second "Lady Knight" in 100 years, but she's done it all through hard-work, without magical abitlities like Lady Alanna's (character from an earlier series). She's been sent to the northern border of Tortall to command a newly-built refugee camp, even though she's only 18! She fights to win the respect of those in her command while keeping them safe from the invading forces of the north. While she is reporting in to headquarters, a group of children and adults are kidnapped from the camp. She goes after them, knowing that the children will be killed if she doesn't find them in time."
Raine, Resident Tamora Pierce Scholar
