Review Summaries
"One night, after a date with his girlfriend, a teacher, John Smith, has a car accident and slips into a coma. He wakes 5 years later to find his girlfriend married with a son. He also discovers that by touching a person's hand he can see into the future and the past. After a long and trying stay in a special clinic, John returns home to live with his father. One day, the local sherrif, Walt, visits John and asks for his help in catching a serial killer. John resists at first, but he eventually agrees to help. With his 'magic touch', John discovers that the deputy is the killer, but before he and Walt can arrest him he kills himself. At a campaign rally, John touches the would-be Senator, Stillson, and sees him elected President and killing people by starting a war. To stop Stillson, John retrieves a rifle and travels to the next speaking engagement. He breaks into the building and waits in the balcony. When Stillson begins his speech, John takes a shot, but misses. Stillson's bodyguard shoots John, who falls from the balcony and dies. Stillson isn't shot, but after using a baby for a human shield his political career is over and he eventually kills himself."

"THE DEAD ZONE, based on the Stephen King novel, is a movie directed by David Cronenberg in 1983. After a 5 years coma, Christopher Walken awakens with the ability to see the past and the future of people by touching their hands. His feelings towards Brooke Adams haven't changed and he has become a crippled. He prefers to leave town as he discovers that his psychic experiments weaken him more and more. But his reputation follows him and he soon will have to solve a murder case. When he'll make the acquaintance of the politician Martin Sheen, he will find a way to stop his own sufferings by doing good deeds. One of the three best adaptations of a Stephen King novel. "
