I Asimov - Isaac Asimov Book Review

Asimov's last book, this autobiography is actually his second. His first, a huge two-volume job written decades eariler, is simply too voluminous and filled with uninteresting details ("Today I was paid $44 for such and such short story I wrote"). By contrast, I Asimov is written in a much more readable style, short essays illustrating different periods of Asimov's life. The earliest part of the book is the most interesting, where he describes what it was like growing up different (both because he was an immigrant and because he was so smart), and struggling to make a career after graduation. However, the end of the book tends to peter out, with chapters such as "riding the limosine" and "meeting with the old farts in x society" kind of dull.

But overall it's a very interesting book, giving invaluable insite on the thought processes of the author of so many fine science fiction novels.

Review Summaries
"This is a biography of highlights of Isaac Asimov's life. He was a prolific writer of science fiction and science and commentary books. He also had a strange kinky thing about writing about sex with robots."
