Review Summaries
"X THE UNKNOWN is a Hammer production written by Jimmy Sangster and directed by Leslie Norman in 1956. Scotland. Dean Jagger, a scientist, is asked by the army to investigate a radioactive spot that has appeared in the middle of a field. Soon several people are found severely burnt as if they had been in contact with radioactivity. Jagger thinks that an energy being, coming from the center of the Earth, is looking for different sources of energy in order to survive. The nuclear plant nearby could be its next target. Gasp! The Blob, Hammer style."
Daniel Staebler, Resident Scholar
