science fiction

I'll say this for "Change of Mind"--at least they tried. For once they had a real story where they tried to break #6--no costume dances, or storytelling sessions, or putting him in a western. This was a real attempt to break him by convincing him he had been lobotomized. While it's not 100% clear why, even if he believed he were lobotomized, that he would want to tell why he resigned, it was still more plausible than other episodes.

Unfortunately, this episode had one big plot hole.

Now, everyone in the village is watched in varying degrees, right? And #6 is probably watched more than others because of his importance, right? And #6 was certain to be watched most closely when they try to break him, right?

Then how come the watchers appear to be asleep when #6
a) pours the drugged tea into the plant
b) switches tea with the woman
c) hypnotizes the woman?

Shouldn't they have been watching him closely during this critical period?

If you can overlook that, it was a cute episode.

Favorite scene: during the social interaction committee, when #6 is clapping at random while the others are talking about social manners.
