Review Summaries
"Subtle ghost story utilizing suspense to create fear. Nicole Kidman is living in a mansion with her two photosensitive kids just after WWII. Opening scene shows mom shrieking hysterically and waking up from an aparant nightmare. It's evident that mom's already a little looney from having to live in the dark in the huge old house with her kids, but discovering how nuts she is all part of the adventure, especially when ghosts make their presense known. Or so it would seem. This film makes a good study of fear based on perspective, especially when perspective is skewed by madness. "
