Review Summaries
"Devastated by the loss of their wife and mother, a man and his three young children hobble along briefly with the help of a grating aunt, then decide to take a chance on a robot grandmother manufactured by Fantoccini Inc. One day she is delivered in an Egyptian sarcophagus by helicopter. The two boys, Tom and Timothy, take to her right away: after all, she can shoot hot chocolate from her finger, or spool endless thread out of her finger like a spider to fly a kite! Their sister Agatha, still grieving and mistrustful, is a much harder sell. Ray Bradbury adapted his marvelous story "I Sing the Body Electric!" for this low budget but heartfelt 49-minute teleplay. Herrmann plays the father, Stapleton is a fine robot grandma. MacNaughton would resurface as Michael, one of ET's kid allies, the following year."
