Review Summaries
"Set in 1960's London. An extension being dug for a subway uncovers what seems at first to be an unexploded WW2 German bomb. The Army is brought in to defuse it but find that it isn't a bomb but what appears to be a sort of small spaceship. All attempts to examine it draw a blank until an accident triggers a change in the ship and a number of rapidly decomposing bodies of what look like locust appear. Strange things start happening and this leads to the climax of the story. This is one of the better movies from the Hammer Studios in England. The story (by Nigel Kneale) is intelligent and paced very well. Largely based on the 1950's TV show of the same name."
Ian Jones, Resident Quatermass (UK) Scholar
