Review Summaries
"This is Brin at his finest. Both a detective story and a technological exploration, Kiln People features a fascinating idea of 24 hour clones. Well, sort of clones, actually replicas pressed into a memetic clay. It is really a cool idea and presents a very interesting way for Brin to tell the story from different points of view, but all from the same character. Really a great book."
Wes Monkey, Resident David Brin Scholar

"David Brin has come up with a new way of looking at social problems via the use of throw away clones composed of a type of organic CLAY that has a 24 (aproximately) hour life cycle. Via the use of these "Ditto's" a person can experience many types of activity and then have the memories uploaded to the host. As you might expect with humanity it leads to new and not so new life experiences that take the reader into a thoughtful look at the inner self. Of course there are bad guys and David does his usually excellent job of putting a twist on things to keep it interesting. A good read. "
William Rawls, Resident David Brin Scholar
