"This is a story about the crew of Voyager based on the pilot episode. It is set mainly through the eyes of Tom Paris a convicted criminal who is enlisted to help Captain Janeway find the Maquis rebels. However both Voyager and The Maquis they are chasing are pulled to the other side of the galaxy and have to try and get back home. We see their motivations, and feelings which may not have been obvious in the TV episode. It also deals with the shock of the prospect of never seeing their loved ones on earth again.
