1. Favorite book and why?
Impossible to pick just one of the Trilogy. Fellowship of the Ring for the horror of the Black Riders and the mystery of Strider. The Two Towers for Smeagol. The Return of the King for the great battle sequences...

2. Least favorite book and why?
My only complaint about ANY of the Trilogy is that they should have been longer... I was also disappointed that the Silmarillion did not tell more about Gil Galad and Elendil. Anything not dealing with Middle Earth by this Author cannot compare to the scope of LOTR.

3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why?
I have a few. The Night on Weathertop in Fellowship. Smeagol arguing with himself/gollum and The Paths of the Dead in the Two Towers. Perhaps my all time favorite is in Moria. The Fellowship is reading about the fate of Balin and the Dwarves... and the drums the drums in the deep... We cannot get out! A very exciting scene.

4. Favorite character and why?
Has to be Aragorn. The perfect hero. Smeagol was a great character too. Gandalf, Eomer, Faramir...

5. Which character do you identify most with and why?
I always found myself identifying with Smeagol/Gollums internal struggle between good and evil. Something all of us do every day on one level or another. Every time I read LOTR I hope that THIS time Smeagol will defeat Gollum and thus redeem himself...

6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it be and what would it be about?
Would love to see an entire book dedicated to the War between Sauron and the Last Alliance at the end of the second age. Gil Galad, Elendil and Isildur have always fascinated me. Would also love to see a book set in the fourth age

7. What do you like about author's writing style?
J.R.R. Tolkien practically crated the modern genre of fantasy as we know it. He has a great vision about the concept of good vs. evil. He created an entire world that has become very real for many readers... His description of places and events is unsurpassed by any other fantasy author. The scope of Middle Earth cannot be transcended by words. The author takes you there and you cannot help but become a part of it... and take a part of it with you.

8. What are your favorite themes of this author?
The classic theme of good vs evil has never been so clearly defined as in Middle Earth. Other underlying themes of betrayal, redemption, sacrifice and the ending of an era are well represented...

9. What could be most improved about this authors books?
They could be LONGER. One cannot get enough of Middle Earth. There is so much to tell and so much of it didnt get the attention it deserves...
