Esteemed Scholar: Wendy Edwards Total Posts in Ray Bradbury 211 1. Favorite book and why? Something Wicked This Way Comes--It's a surprisingly ornate discription of the struggle between humanity and time. The understanding of personalities who crave to separate themselves from the destructive forces of time has never been shown more fully then by Bradbury. 2. Least favorite book and why? Dandelion Wine--most of his short stories try to cram such intense meaning into so few pages. 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? The end scene--Good prevailing over evil is always going to be an exhilerating experience, especially if good cheats evil of all its spoils. 4. Favorite character and why? Jim--good at heart with such desire for everything forbidden. Will he hold out or give in? 5. Which character do you identify most with and why? Jim--the choices and feelings he exhibits practically mirror my own. 6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it be and what would it be about? Farenheit 451--I would like to see more of how the Underground society works and how the ex-firefighter fits in. 7. What do you like about author's writing style? He delves into the human psyche more then any writer I've experienced. Not only does he tell what the character does, but why he did it, how he felt before and after doing it, and if he might possibly do it again. And the amazing part is he doesn't just tell you, he shows you. 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? An overbaring society 9. What could be most improved about this authors books?
