Esteemed Scholar: Thomas Petitpas Total Posts in Ray Bradbury 280 1. Favorite book and why? Favorite play is Falling Upward! because it is Ray's favorite. It is playing from 9/13 thru 10/13 in L.A. at Theatre West. Also, From the Dust Returns which is released at the end of October. Wow, a new novel!!!! 2. Least favorite book and why? Least favorite play is Leviathan 99 because it is cumbersome on stage. It worked better as a BBC radio play. 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? Favorite scene in Falling Upward! is when the Irish barflies urinate into the grave of the recently deceased squire who wanted to take his wine collection with him. He did, but not quite the way he thought. 4. Favorite character and why? Garrity, because he has a touch of the Bradbury magic. Also, Uncle Einar, because he has a large wingspan (from Ray's new book, From the Dust Returned). 5. Which character do you identify most with and why? Doone from Falling Upward!, because he is the champion Anthem Sprinter. 6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it be and what would it be about? I don't like sequels because I don't like to go backwards. 7. What do you like about author's writing style? I like Ray's ability to move me without spoonfeeding everything. He allows my mind to finish what he is saying. He makes me work for it. 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? Mars, Ireland, the Elliot family from his new novel. Yes, I read it already. I have an advance reader's copy. 9. What could be most improved about this authors books? How would one improve on Ray Bradbury?
