1. Favorite book and why?
The Fellowship of the Ring. The Fellowship has a exciting feeling of mystery and wonder at every corner. Every chapter seems to bring in new and suprising places and characters. It is this book and its "Nine Walkers" entering Moria that inspired, and most resembled, the basic Dungeons and Dragons adventure of several different characters entering a Dark Dungeon.

2. Least favorite book and why?
The second Conan book was quite disappointing compared to the first. I cannot believe they same person wrote it. The silmarilion (sp?) was basically a history book, very boring. I have a tough time reading Jordans stuff. I tried Eye of the World, but I never cared about any character after 200 pages. Maybe I have no patience.

3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why?
I loved the Scenes from the Hall of Marzubal to The bridge of Kazadhum (sp?) (Fellowship of the Ring). Tremendous excitment and pace.

4. Favorite character and why?
Gandalf the Grey. I liked the Grey better because he was never really a character to defeat an enemy by brute force. He showed that power was more about influnce than strength. Likened to an old Wizened tree weathering a storm, He tried to navagate around the storms in order to survive or due that which must be done.

5. Which character do you identify most with and why?
I identify with Gandalf because he was the only one who understood his burdens and problems. He had to find a great deal of will power to be vigilant. I always find myself procrastinating about the things most important to me and myself alone. I cannot share the burden or really even explain my own personal struggles-but I still fight them.

6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it be and what would it be about?
I imagine a prequal woulkd have plenty of material, but I would be more interrested in a close up of the current events during and only a few hundred years befor the war. I am very interested in all th characters. There is plent to tell about gandalfs and Aragorns wanderings before the final stages of the war.

7. What do you like about author's writing style?
Tremendous timing and ability to instill a sense of anxiety in the reader for there beloved characters. At the same time filling page after page of amazing historic exposition.

8. What are your favorite themes of this author?
I realy like how "oft evil mars itself" and how good begets good. The hobbits always find help unlooked for, and the bad guys always find themselves there greatest adversaries. I felt like I should have known all along how Gollum would fall into the fire, thus saving the Land.

9. What could be most improved about this authors books?
I think the Tom bombadil part was too much. Beorn in the hobbit was perfect but Tom was too powerful too unbelievable and it also ruined the tension of the chase. I look for the characters to solve their problems not some all powerful forest guy.
