1. Favorite book and why?
Belgarath the Sorceror Because it has terrific scope - a complete history in one volume. That and the fact that Belgarath is full of humour as a character, but doesn't have the intense ego of Polgara.

2. Least favorite book and why?
The Rivan Codex Having read this book, I am firmly of the belief that you should never try to get into the head of an author, especially your favourite. I see why he wrote it, but it almost ruined the series for me, since....well,read it yourself. Come to your own conclusions.

3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why?
The final fight scene combined with the wedding scene in The Hidden City. To have all that power and to then give it up showed tremendous strength of character on Sparhawk's part. I know...it's only a book, but it brought the series to a brilliant end.

4. Favorite character and why?
Sparhawk, as he has humility. Characters who are born all-powerful take the shine off themselves, simply because you can't believe they'll fail since you know they were born to succeed. Sparhawk got there himself, and doesn't lose sight of that.

5. Which character do you identify most with and why?
Sparhawk - he *works* at it, is devoted to his family, and just gets on with it.

5. Which charater do you identify most with and why?
Huh??? Isn't this the same question?

6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it be and what would it be about?
A sequel to the Tamuli, in the same vein as Belgarath the Sorceror, with Sephrenia telling the history of Sparhawk's family.

7. What do you like about author's writing style?
Humor, combined with a keenness to get on with the story. Many authors fail by getting too descriptive (Tolkein, Robert Jordan et al).

8. What are your favorite themes of this author?
Prophecy, with an uncertainty element.

9. What could be most improved about this authors books?
Variety - the Belgariad/Malloreon series is essentially replicated in the Elenium/Tamuli. All the characters in each have an equivalent in the other.
