Esteemed Scholar: Emily Total Posts in Michael Crichton 21 1. Favorite book and why? Although I am fond of many different books, I think my favorite is Timeline, by Michael Crichton. Even though it has many impossible things happening in it, is all fiction and a very entertaining read. 2. Least favorite book and why? I found White Fang, by Jack London dreadfully boring because He tried too hard to give a dog a personality when he had none, and then write a book about it. 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? I like the scene where they abandon Doniger outside a city with the plague. I don't like it because it gets revenge of the bad guy, but rather because you completely feel the horror that Doniger feels. 4. Favorite character and why? My favorite character is Andre Mereck, because sometimes he seems to be the only one in the bunch with any sense of logic. 5. Which character do you identify most with and why? I also identify with Andre more than the other characters, because in the begenning it tells how he would feel more at home in a time lost in the past, than in the present or future. I also feel that way every so often 6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it be and what would it be about? I would like to see a sequil to Timeline, where they go back just like before, but in a different era and setting. 7. What do you like about author's writing style? I like how he incorporates scientific facts with fiction and makes you believe that something like that might come into existence before you know it. For exampel the time machine. I also like how you can't seem to put the book down because it is just so much fun reading it. 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? I enjoied his dinosaur theme, and his history theme the best. 9. What could be most improved about this authors books? The only thing I can think of is maybe taking out some of the unnesessary bad language in it.
