Esteemed Scholar: Confusing Manifestation Total Posts in Terry Pratchett 42 1. Favorite book and why? The Last Continent because PTerry managed to take the Mickey out of Australia without using all the stupid stereotypical jokes we Aussies are getting sick of. And because I could read it and put another shrimp on the barbie at the same time. 2. Least favorite book and why? I disliked Moving Pictures, because I didn't find it as funny as the others, even after knowing all of the movie references. 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? The making of Vegemite (that stuff with the beer and salt and other stew stuff), since it's something typically Australian, and is described in a way that sounds like it is something you'd only eat when drunk (I, for one, love it when sober). 4. Favorite character and why? Death, for being such a caring and compassionate character. And being three-dimensional, probably as a result of being realer than anyone else on the Disc. 5. Which character do you identify most with and why? Probably Eric Thursley, since he's willing to experiment, and has a small lust for power, even though it lands him in lots of trouble, and sends him to Hell and back. 6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it be and what would it be about? I would love to see a sequel to Good Omens (co-authored with Neil Gaiman), and it would probably be about the original, Christian characters (like the angels and the demons) encountering other religions, and still trying to get Armageddon to work out. 7. What do you like about author's writing style? He managed to combine intelligent observations of this world with the workings of a supposedly ridiculous world, and still make it readably hilarious. 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? The true nature of truth, lies, good and bad; the fact that appearances are deceptive. 9. What could be most improved about this authors books? The quantity - we need more!
