Esteemed Scholar: Cody Carlson Total Posts in Harry Turtledove 3720 1. Favorite book and why? 'How Few Remain.' It is a wonderful story of a second civil war between the USA and the Confederacy. 2. Least favorite book and why? 'The Two Georges.' An alternate history novel where North America remains a part of the British empire. Good premise but far too long with too many leaps of logic. 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? When Abraham Lincoln meets with Mormon prophet John Taylor. I enjoied the stuff in Salt Lake about the Mormons because that's where I'm from. 4. Favorite character and why? Frederick Douglas. The great speaker and former slave continues the fight against slavery from the USA against the confederacy. 5. Which character do you identify most with and why? Teddy Roosevelt. His desire to attain glory on the battlefield leads him to independant action. 6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it be and what would it be about? I would be interested to see a sequel to his novel 'The Guns of the South,' about how the Confederate States come to terms with the North and their own problems dealing with the time travelers. 7. What do you like about author's writing style? His handling of historical characters in the situations he places them in. 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? The idea that the course of time hinges on the smallest things. 9. What could be most improved about this authors books? Perhaps most of his works are too long with too many characters. I think he should be a little more conservative at times with regaurd to length.
