Esteemed Scholar: Allicorn Total Posts in Piers Anthony 56 1. Favorite book and why? on a pale horse this book is the first in a series that deals with the immortal aspects of our consciosness and beliefs. Mr Anthony combines his classic punnish humor with moral fantasy, to tell a fascinating story, giving a whole new twist to heaven hell and the afterlife. 2. Least favorite book and why? so far i have not yet found a Peirs Anthony book i didn't like but i think the least favorite of his would be Race Against time,. It left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied. my opinion on this book was that it was more of a teen version of the Jim Carrey movey ( sorry the name slips my mind ) where he is living in a fake town and his life is being brodcast on telivision 3. Favorite scene in favorite book and why? My favorite scenen in on a pale hores would have to be when Zane the Protagonist after newly assuming the office of Thanatos ( death ) must go to take the soul of a recently deseased baby , marveling at the amount of evil a child assumes from its parents through no fault of its own yet torn with the decision he must make to remove the innocents soul this scene is my personal favorite as we get to know the difficulies an average man would face in such a morally challenging feild of employment and it touched a tender spot in my heart Specificallt small children 4. Favorite character and why? Zane, this is a charicter who is thrown into a situation he does not wish to be in yet he manages to overcome his moral conflicts to perform his duty as Death yet remains a good and decent person despite his dealings with Satan's manipulations and exposure to horrifing situations 5. Which character do you identify most with and why? Again I must say Zane , he is a charicter like most people who is trying to exsist by the skin of his teeth he has average dreams and goals yet is burdend with bill collecters and bad luck. His life changes drastically when he assumes the office of death and he still must face ever more difficult chalenges but manages in the end to recieve the majority of his dreams 6. If you could see a sequel to one of the author's books, which would it be and what would it be about? Most of Peirs anthony's books have several sequels to them and I am quite satisfied with what he has published 7. What do you like about author's writing style? I like his Punnish sense of humor and his Imaginative Settings and Story lines 8. What are your favorite themes of this author? My favoriter themes are the placement of average people into unusall and fantastical situations ( such as asigning the roles of Death Fate, Time , ect to mortals.
