I feel sorry for the people who think that this movie was not inspired or meant to be watched on drugs. One time I ingested LSD, and sat down to watch the movie with multiple friends, we saw 100's, and i mean 100's of things that we never saw before, how do we know the things were real and in the movie? Because we all saw the exact same stuff, basicly wat happened is that when on LSD you get the "trail" effect, where you almost see things in slow motion, the movie creators actually created hidden images and kaledoscope visions all throughout the movie, like for example when the chesur (sp?) cat smiles, the whole screen gets a swirling border around it of the cats teeth, look carefully when watching the movie, it actually can be caught when you are sober, just intense when you are on LSD, I dont care what you people say, we know wat we saw, and I GURANTEE that this movie was inspired by drugs and that the movie creators purposely hid several things in it for the entertainment of the drug users.

almost every part of alice in wonderland is in referance to drugs it's actually impossible to not realize this. another huge issue in this movie is sexuality. it comes up once or twice in the movie. the part when they are having the unbirthday tea party alice runs across the screen in the back round naked.

i think the film has a very strong drug reference in it.
the caterpilla is sitting there smoking a bong for gods sake!
then again most cartoons seem dark when you think about it hard enough.

honestly people, what is the difference whether it's about drugs or not. I think yall are wasting your time arguing about it. Sure the guy wasn't on drugs when he wrote it, but it is deffinately a trippy story. I don't think it's subliminal messaging to tell kids to do drugs, but to older people, the use of drugs is deffinately appearant, there's no way you can deny that she was trippin real hard!!

The caterpillar sat on a mushroom. In all the pictures, it is red with white spots, amanita muscaria, the fly agaric. Maybe Lewis wasn't on drugs, but the illustrators were. I once read a theory that since real Alice Liddel had dark hair and story Alice was blonde, therefore the story wasn't about his friend.

Okay, so yeah. Alice was a character based on Lewis Carrol's frends daughter. I do not think that he'd have his friends SEVEN year old daughter doin drugs in his books. Also, Lewis Carroll was VERY sick he died of Bronchidus (spell check) and the "drugs" he was "on" when he wrote Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass were his pain killers! God! I swear People come up with ANYTHING to make a CHILDRENS book look bad. Children's books are ment to be weird, It's magic for the kids. Yes, I know that Disney movies have some crazy stuff in them: Lion King theres the word Sex in the Dandilion fluff, Wizard of Oz Some tiny persons being hanged in the backroung during the flying minkey scene in the forest. I'm sure Alice in Wonderland was ment to look like a druggie thing in the movie but Lewis Carroll was not on drugs!!

Lewis Carroll wrote this story about a friend he had named Alice. I don't think he would have her doin stuff (plus she's 7). This is a CHILDRENS book it is suppossed to be weird! Also, Lewis Carroll was ill he MIGHT have been acting weird because of his medicine! I don't think he was on drugs.
Yes, the mushroom was a bassed on drugs because he read about it in another book and thought it would be interesting for a story.
