Anyone notice that after a certain point in time Sondra disappeared and was replaced by Yasko, another low-key skinny Chinese woman? What was up with that? Was main mission like the UN, where there was a "Chinese seat" that had to constantly be filled? Click here to post a message        The commentator Annika posts on 6/7/2005 11:56:47 PM Zienia Merton, at the end of season one, had gone on to do other things as the struggle to decide if there would be a season two waged on in light of the impending divorce of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. Because an entire year passed between the end of season one and the beginning of season two, most of the Alphans had moved on. Nick, Zienia, Prenits and some of the others. Well when Freddie Friedberger was brought in after Gerry Anderson capitulated creative control of the series, Friedberger was forced to get the cast back together atain, but both Nick and Zienis were contractully obligated to other things. Initially, Carter was supposed to die in "The Metamorph" but Anderson told Friedberger Alan was the most beloved character on the show and Nick got more fan mail than the rest of the cast. Friedberger was obligated to hire Nick back, but with a committment to a selected group of episodes. That was the reason both Tony Anholt and John Hug were brought in to pick up the slack. With Zienia, the same thing. Alibe Parsons and Yasuko Nagazumi were hired to pick up the slack from Zienia's absence. Unlike Alibe, Yasuko was the wife of series director Ray Austin and she was hired (though I seriously doubt she had talent) to fulfill the part of someone that looked as dumb as she was.
