I sent a query to Penguin Group, Lisanne's publisher and on November 19, 2009 I got an email from them stating that Shades of Gray is tentatively scheduled for release in August 2010. So there you have it folks, straight from the horse's mouth. Our wait is almost over! I. like most of her fans I'm sure, am so happy right now. I have reached an age where I do not wish time away but I find myself wishing this was August despite the killer heat that comes along with time of year here in the desert. Dust off your books everyone and schedule a series reread for July so all of the details will be fresh in your minds. I have also just finished re-reading all the 7 previous books and am dying to read the next (last?) one. Is Shades of Gray ever going to get published? We can't be left hanging this way. Anybody have any news?

The commentator Lynda posts on 3/17/2009 10:15:51 AM

You said you were looking for a publisher for shades of gray. Have you published it yet and if so, when can we expect it to be available. We have already waited near 5 years.

Hopefully later this year. You can find out more on her message board, which should be searchable. This site is overly sensitive about names. :;rolls eyes::

I would just like to thank brother Chayak for giving the information which made it possible for me to get the updated information about Lisanne Norman's long awaited book, Shades of Grey. I have been trying to find out what is going on with this series for years and I am happier than you could possibly imagine to finally get some accurate and positive information. Thanks again!

Brother Chayak posts on 8/20/2008 10:31:32 AM

I have posted the REAL story on the book. Go to the brotherhood of vartra board on yuku and look in the general chat. Lisanne posts on the board as Hyperkit. I would post a link but this system won't let me.

Does anyone know the REAL story behind Lisanne Norman's 8th book, Shades of Grey? On July 8, 2008 Brother Chayak states that it is in the hands of her editor and gives directions to a message board. Well, I went to the site in his message and I couldn't find anything that has anything to do with Ms. Norman or the books. What publisher, because I have called DAW and all they will say is that she is not one of their authors. Wow, when she dropped off the face of the earth she must have left the universe too because I can't find out anything and I have reread the 7 books in the series so often that I almost have them memorized, word for word! I just need to know for sure so I can stop hoping if it is fruitless. It is seriously hard to get published and then keep a series going strong through 7 books so why would anyone just STOP and not even post a note on her website. If she is dead, you would think her webpage manager would get the word out and not just leave all of us fans in the dark. Lisanne, where are you? You just left us hanging, right when things were at their most interesting!

Brother Chayak posts on 7/8/2008 2:36:55 PM

The current book Shades of Grey has been finished and is now in the hands of the editor. for more information refer to the official message board. Brotherhood of Vartra at Yuku.com

So it seems everyone is as lost as I am when it comes to the progress of Shades of Gray. It really has been years. And it's the middle of 2008 and no 8th book. I sincerely hope she hasn't dropped the series, an author like her is rare. To make a series so vast yet always so satisfying and complete takes a lot. I hope the passage of time is due to the plot thickening and not her dropping the story...

The commentator M Lamarre posts on 5/31/2008 2:40:37 PM

What is the status of the 8th book? There is no info anywherem including the publisher, and the website is seriously outdated

The commentator Lynda Birlew posts on 5/25/2008 1:37:45 PM

What has happened to Lisanne Norman? It' been 5 plus yrs since her last book. Did she pass away ? I realize moving is hard but?

I don't think Lisanne actually visits here, but as a member of her official fanclub, The Brotherhood of Vartra, I can tell you the 8th book won't be out til next year. Visit us at the Brotherhood on ezboardcom

Hello Ms. Norman I finally found you I hope. I've been searching for the 8th book of the Sholan series. I have all the books in paperback would like to change them to hardback. Are you still writting? It is rare to find a author that can hold one's attention through 7 books in a series. I hope all is well with you.

       posts on 9/23/2006 2:47:02 PM

The latest news is that it'll be out around Sept. 2007. For more information, check out her message board on ezboard - look for The Brotherhood of Vartra.

Best way to find out about the 8th book is to find Lisanne's ezboard. This stupid thing won't let me so much as name it though, sorry! Look in the Dzahai mountains. ;)

I love Between Darkness and Light. All the books in the series are good. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I wonder if you or somebody who knows could e-mail me when the 8th book is coming out.
