Which was better, UFO or Space 1999?
Space 1999 really followed UFO, especially since both series were made by Gerry Anderson. The alien spacesuits from UFO became astronaut spacesuits on Space 1999; the idea of a moonbase on UFO was enlarged on Space 1999, and so on. But the question is, which was the better series?

Space 1999 was definitely better. Season 1 anyway - episodes like Wargames and, Dragons Domain rocked. Season 2 was a diaster when that Star Trek dude got his mitts on it and turned it into a parody and ruined it the way he did Star Trek Season 3. He was a serial series killer!
1999 should be remade as Space: 2099 and a different method of getting the Moon out of orbit used - I believe one of the original concept had aliens involved and yet another concept had the base on a large asteroid that was knocked out of the solar system by an even larger passing asteroid. They should keep the Eagles, Hawks and basic look of the base with new characters - redoing a few old scripts like Wargames and Dragons Domain.
UFO was good in its own way, but I have no desire at all to see that redone.
