If it is a call for vote, i'll say "In the Beginning". But this is individual. Babylon 5 is an open book, which speaks, teaches, and also learns from us who watches, who understands (fans contributed to the story). The story thus offered much to those open to understanding and searching for some meaning and sense of life, that much is clear. And as each of us has his own questions, we get find different answers, and the question about one answer over another is meaningless, for they serve different purposes.

this episode towards the end of season 2 really upped the ante as far as I am concerned.
There was this kind of slow build up to the end of season and all of a sudden this really innocent looking episode just kicked off proving that things would never be the same again, I remember watching this with my jaw on the floor, never before had I seen sci-fi this thought provoking, this engaging and frankly this good.
I really liked the Neville Chamberlain apeasement "peace in our time" no matter what the price attitude from Earthgov.

Practically any episode with vorlons or shadows in it was worth watching. When they left, the show took a plummet in the ratings. All of the cool aliens left and they annoying ones stayed. Then the earth conflict which was even more annoying. It just didn't recover after the vorlon/shadow war.

the old geezer if you don't realize it was "god " and the vorlons were the angels. Lorien brought Sheridan back to life. i like the episode but i thinmk "giants in the Play ground was the best.

I gotta say as far as scifi goes B5 is my fav. I remeber watching the pilot and thinking yeah it's gonna be a show. It of course did but it seemed like an eternity, going from 8th grade to highschool and it still wasn't on. Needless to say it's been a looong time since I've seen the show. Anyone know where i can get the DVD's??

despite all the trash sci-fi that has been dumped on the airwaves, b-5 was an excellent, intelligent, original and extremely entertaining show. take care.

Ceremonies of light and dark was undoubtedly the best episode. It was the turning point.

Thatīs my favorite episode. Seeing the impact of Babylon 5 through the ages. Despite the question posted by Sebastian the inquisitor about the expectation of Delenn and Sheridan if they would like to be remember for their actions, Iīd like to know what they would think after seeing that glipse of the far future.

I really enjoyed this episode. As I did any episode with Walter Koening. Did you ever believe he could be so sinister? Actually I remember seeing him early in his career, playing a bad teenager. I like the perspective this episode had. It was presented as a promotional for Psi-Corps. Did you catch the subliminal message that ran during a Psi-Corps commercial?

Although all the episodes mentioned are excellent, in my book "Severed Dreams" will always be the best. That's the Season 3 one where B5 secedes from Earth.
I still remember rushing from the airport to the hotel (business trip) to get there in time to see it, and then sitting on the edge of my seat with my jaw hanging for the whole hour!
The emotional impact of Sheridan's secession announcement, the space battle, and the in-station battle were simply overwhelming to me. When the one destroyer crashed into another to take it out, I was utterly aghast. I remember thinking "All those people - DEAD!" I was so drawn into it that it seemed real!
And then there's Delenn's threat to the Earth ships: "If you value your lives, BE somewhere else!" That's when I truly saw just how strong her character was.
And finally, the scene with all the dead/dying/wounded Marines, Security, and Narn. It showed so clearly that even though war may sometimes be necessary, it is always horrible.
No matter how many times I watch the series (and I'm up to Season 4 of my 10th time), no episode comes close to the power and impact of "Severed Dreams."

The best episode was the Vorlon Shadow war, with the other first ones coming in and kicking the @#*@ out of the Vorlon planet killer. And nuke happy Sheridan was doing his thing again. Lets count the nukes 1. Blackstar in In the Begining, 2. Shadows at Zhahadum, 3. Vorlon and Shadows during the final war, 4. The artifact and all aliens inside of it in the movie Third Space. And since Bab 5 was supposed to be a diplomatic outpost, why did he have all of the nukes in the first place?

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and I was hoping someone could help. I've been searching for this B5 short story forever! It was originally published in Amazing Stories issue #602, but it has been sold out! Is there another way to get it? Is it available anywhere else?
Thanks!
