What was the best episode?
The nominees:
The one where…Jamie and Steve fought the Fembots, made by the dottering but evil Doctor Franklin (Played by John Houseman: "We make Fembots the oldfashioned way… we build them…"). It was always amusing to me how this feeble old guy who looked like he couldn't harm a fly was grinding out dozens of deadly feminine androids. Best scene: Where Steve pulls off Robo-Oscar's facemask, revealing a growling diode-faced robot.
The one where… Steve gets captured in an Austrian chalet where the evil guy in charge wants to see how many people Steve can take on. So first Steve fights one, then two, then three, then four, then five hefties… he beats them all up in slow motion, too.
The one where… Jamie fought the misguided computer "Alex 7000". Alex, with his soft voice, homicidal tendencies, and ever present camera-eye, was obviously a ripoff of "Hal 9000" from "2001: A Space Oddessey", but we didn't mind, watching Jamie battle the evil computer who was bent on destroying the Earth. Best scene: When Alex, trying to suffocate Jamie, makes her run through a giant bubble bath.

My favorite BW episode from the first two seasons (I will relive the third shortly, when it arrives in the mail) was "Canyon of Death", the one where the security detail in charge of safeguarding a personal flying suit steals it, and Jamie jumps thirty feet in the air to stop them. I still think, though, that that was WAY too far to fall, and that there should have been a "land" button or something. Also cool: "Once A Thief" (the 'Inky' episode) from Season Two, because she's actually keeping a bad guy out of jail even though he knows her secret, car jacks her and blackmails her into helping him rob a bank.

I don't know which is my favorite episode, but my favorites (in no particular order) are: "The Moon and the Desert", "Wine, Women, and War", "The Solid Gold Kidnapping", "Populaton: Zero", "Day of the Robot", "Return of the Robot Maker", "Death Probe", "Return of the Death Probe", "Deadly Countdown", "Doomsday and Counting", "Dark Side of the Moon", "The Seven Million Dollar Man", "The Bionic Criminal", "The Deadly Replay", "Dr. Wells is Missing", "The Pioneers", "Nuclear Attack", "Rescue of Athena One", and most of the rest!!

Best episode was the one where Jamie broke into the Fembots barracks and did with all of them at the same time. Hot robot on cyborg action! I never imagined Lindsey Wagner was that flexible = pile driver, drilling for oil, reverse cow girl, plus dozens of others I dont even know the names of. Must have been exotic asian moves.

Best episode, the one where Steves bionic woody misfired and poked out Jamies eye while she was giving Steve a blow job.

I've always been most fond of "Population Zero". This was the first episode. I remember screwing up the horizontal/vertical setting on the family TV when my parents were gone. I was frantically trying to get the picture back before my parents returned. After what seemed like an hour, the screen cleared up and the series premier just happened to be starting. I was immediately hooked from that moment on. 10 year old are kind of like that.

I think the shows had some good points (futuristic possibilities) but, what did say about biases? The whole purpose of bionics (particularly for Jamie) were not life-saving surgery. They could have learned to cope with the loss of their limbs or could have had surgery to correct the multiple broken limbs but no. Even with "Bionically Ever After" she said "If you can't make me bionic don't bother saving me." What does that say "If I can't be perfect life's not worth living." Great messages to send (particularly to kids. Her family therapy office even had stairs!

As a SMDM fanatic up until this day, I pick the pole as number one, the lumberjack episode number two, and the one where Steve's good friend turns out to be a robot whom he battles to the death, only to have the good friend appear with amnesia in the end number three. All these episodes featured great production/action including lots of the great music they started to drop off in later years. Also a clean cut Steve Austin with no cheesy mustach or late 70's I need a haircut look.

I am glad they "ripped-off" the Alex computer from the movie. The movie was borish anyway. The Bionic Woman take was much more fun!

In my opinon, Angel of Mercy is the best episode. Jaime goes on her first mission after defeating Carlton Harris in the true pilot of the series titled Welcome Home Jaime. She is assigned the task of flying to South America with an ex-ace pilot(played excellently by Andy Griffith) who clearly has a chip on his shoulder. He is constantly berating her and she handles his insults with dignity and does not attack back, she has to keep her abilities a secret. Her objective is to infiltrate a war zone and rescue an american dignitary and his wife who are trapped and injured. When the enemy rebels are closing in, Jaime finally confronts her abuser and openly uses her bionics to complete the mission and win over her nemesis. This episode deals with sexism and racism and promotes dignity.Lindsay Wagner's performance was exceptional and her physical appearance was not glamourized, she did this in very little make up and coveralls....This made a strong impression on a generation of children and young adults, and created a positive role model for females and males alike. Jaime Sommers was not just another super hero, she showed us by example a way to handle people and situations with a different kind of strength.

the best smdm episode is a tie between "the deadly countdown". razor sharp production standards, general edge of the seat action, and even lee looks like he's intersted, the underrated "stranger in broken fork" a moral story here, with NO elements of sci fi/espionage, it works perfectly, and "population zero" a really positive start to the series. the pole scene is just da bomb!!! also honourable mentions to "doomsday and counting" "rollback" and "the price of liberty". real classy stories and advocates for the more positive aspects to the show.

"Target in the sky" Where steve is a lumberjack and the actor Denny Miller was his typical jerk (he plays a great comical jerk) There is just alot of action in this episode. It's also VERY current to what could definitly happen today in our political nightmare, and out of all the episodes..this one has it all,and funny too. Also the late great actor Ivor francis is in this one.So if you have a choice to watch only one and (or if) you want to turn someone on to the show who has never seen it, PLEASE start them out on this episode..they should be hooked..if not..this show is probably not their cup of tea. Trust me this is the one.

My alltime favorite was "Doomsday and counting" where Steve dismantles a computer or blows it up.
