alex, i don't think so. didn't hahn and luke steal some stormtroopers' armor in the first movie when they rescued Leia? i think the suit is just basically body armor to offer at least some protection. lord, i've got to watch the movies again! take care.

it made them feel all pretty and feminine. a great many of the stormtroopers were crossdressers you know. they were also real jealous of the cylons on the original galactica because they got to wear those lovely skirts made out of shimmery velcron. take care.

Let's just say that, if I were a Stormtrooper, I'd have a heckuva lotta space between my chest and the outer armor. Maybe Jango Fett was a strong, muscular man whose clones could fill out the Stormtroopers' armor, but anyone who crawled out of the gene pool too late would have to use socks to pad out chest cavity!

Blasters shoot laser beams. The troopers breast plates are angled out and are also highly reflective like a mirror. Lasers are light and mirrors reflect light. It's a defense mechanism.

good question. Since the armor was designed to function in space, or a planet that has a hostile atmosphere I assume that there are some sort of electronic or self contained environmental equipment under there. Even the rebel pilots had a square control panel on their chests when in the flight suits.

There are a few things. I don't see why you guys are talking about this kinda stuff but, here it goes;
1 Not ALL stormtroopers are clones. In fact, the majority are humans. Let me explain, and quote;
"...And as he saw the trooper go down, the captain realised that, whether the soldier had been human or clone, he would never see his face."
"...As the clone took aim at the rebel sabatuer in the Death Star Battlestation, he looked upon the rebels face, and, in kamikazi stride, declared this kill for the honor of the Empire and the New Order."
There. Also, if you read the jedi academy series, there is a little sideline part where a jedi named Kyp Durron has a brother who was taken by the Imperials when he was 4.
Also, I have a theory about the whole thing where they are all the same height;
1 When Anakin became darth Vader, they had to do something with the clones they had.
2 They take humans from planets in raids when they are young and there, under military training and under a certain deit, there growth somehow is shortened or lengthened. It determines there size, shape, and wieght.
Also, yea, the breats are square, which suggests the troops are simply well built.
But on the going down to chest shots, that always did make me curios. I mean, why not blow them up, or shoot them in the face. I do it all the time to other stormies on Battlefront. Just saying.

wow you guys are a bunch of retards, the stormtroopers are all the same, they are all clones of Jango Fett therefor none of them have boobs. Also the breastplates are really not that friggin big. you'd have to be a crack-baby to think they are.

My suggestion would be that storm trooper is 'one size fits a lot of sentients', and must therefore have certain tolerances, etc.
