He can't even have children (though, inexplicably, he did in one episode). Isn't the whole concept ridiculous? It wouldnt be the first tme someone in Science fiction fell in love with an AI of some sort. No more ridiculous than androids serving in Starfleet. He was certainly more human than the humans in that show. he has demonstrated the capacity to love someone on more than one occasion.
