palpatine became hideous because of the force lightning and vader because of the near death and resulting suit. dooko didn't look that bad, just a little old, and what about grievous? also, i think CGI looks better than puppets, but that doesn't mean who have to do everything CGI, look at Dark Knight!

Yes, the Dark Side degrades the body in order to make the user more dependant on it. As for Yoda, Yoda is a species which currently does not have a name. There are several examples including Yaddle and Vandar.

Congratulations to Darth CJ, who has more Star Wars books, posters, games, toys, and action figures than Porthos does...but, at least Porthos can get laid.

The Sith have bad teeth and skin because the Jedi have a better health plan.

No, going to the dark side does not give you bad teeth and skin the emperor only got bad teeth and skin because Mace Windu deflected his force lightning.

if portos doesnt have a problem with it then neither should anyone else. now kneel before portos, the original collector of all things star wars, the possessor of the signed copy of splinter in the minds eye. all hail his lucas and his money grubbing tweaking of the films, creator of jar-jar, writer of such lines as "obi wan is going to kill me for this".

I actually like the stop-action animation of the original King Kong and wouldn't want that changed. But, I liked the new King Kong effects, too. It depends on whether I'm watching something for nostalgia or realism. With "Kong" you got two different movies to choose from. With Star Wars, you got the "upgrade" of the same version. But, if you have the old version on DVD, you can watch those if you don't like the slicked up version. Truthfully, the "upgrade" made no difference to me. The dialog was still painful at times and the acting mostly wooden. FX can't change that.

Don't "Whatever" me, man. I know exactly what Im talking about. I pride myself on being a loyal Star Wars fan from the beginning. I still have original Action figures and comic books and even a signed copy of "Splinter of the Mind's Eye". If I don't have a problem with CGI, neither should anyone else. The CGI Jabba moved a lot more realistically. The rickety old decrepit models of the old days dont cut the muster anymore. CGI is the only way to go now. And it looks perfectlyt fine. If you think otherwise, youre certainly welcome to your opinion. Even though youre wrong. You can cling desperately to your stagnant, archaic, outdated, antiquated film methods with your snobby little fans who are hopelessly mired in the past. The rest of us will be living in the now and enjoying the progress of technology. If its good enough for Lucas then it should certainly be good enough for you.

Whatever man. The models have a certain "substance" to them that the CGI just does not have. This is especially true in regards to actual characters. The Puppet Jabba looks way more convincing and life-like than the cartoonish CG Jabba. The same can be said for all the rest of the characters.

The CGI looked fine. Its the 21st century you know. New ideas, fresh approaches. People complaining about CGI are just looking for any old excuse to complain. Ive been with Star Wars since day one. If theres one thing I know its what works with Star Wars and what doesnt. And the CGI effects work. We cant remain in the days of hanging models from wires forever.

Really, in answer to the question I am sure it was Palpatine's force lightning that caused his hideous disfiguration. I want to agree with one of the other posters though. The entire prequel trilogy would have been MUCH better if Lucas had used CGI primarily for the backgrounds etc. and puppets and models for the aliens and ships as he did with the original trilogy. The CGI just looks WAY TOO cartoon-like. Sad. Very Sad. I for one, was disapointed.

The series is supposed to take place within the 20 year gap between episodes 3 and 4. Lucas has been quoted as he'll be inventing new filming techniques to make special effects easier and more affordable.

My brother told me that a Star Wars television series is in the works. Has anyone else heard anything about it? If so, what is it going to be about? Will any of the actors or their characters from the movies be involved? Take Care...

Im guessing theyre going by how you looked as a Jedi by the time of your death. Obi-Wan's ghost stated in RotJ that Vader, in a figurative sense, essentially "Killed" Anakin. Anakin DIED in his mid to late twenties, so that's how he looked. His time as a Sith didnt count. Yoda and Obi-Wan were jedi up till their deaths.
