Best Episodes: Resurrection of the Daleks
This was a Peter Davidson episode where the Tardis lands in the warehouse district of London. The Daleks have opened a time corridor from the future where they are storing lethal samples of the virus that the Movellans are using against them. Guarding these samples are a group of brainwashed clones the Daleks have created.
Meanwhile, back in the future, the Daleks assault a spacestation which is holding Davros in deep freeze. After a brutal battle to take the ship using lasers and mutilating poison gas, the Daleks rescue Davros.
But Davros has ideas of his own, and uses some sort of device to reprogram some of the clones and Daleks to make them loyal to him. Then he launches a civil war against the other Daleks and clones.
The Doctor tries to kill Davros during this mess, but lacks the resolve to do so. Since the Daleks are all killing each other off, however, there's little he has to do.
At the end Davros is apparently killed by the virus and the space station he's on is apparently blown up. I say apparently because Davros returns in a later episode, with little explanation of how he survived these things.
Because this was a heavy action episode, this was one of the best episodes, despite the presence of the annoying Tegan and the dull Turdlough.

Actually Resurrection of the Daleks was written by Eric Saward, not Bob Holmes, who only wrote one Peter Davison story and that was The Caves of Androzani. Resurrection of the Daleks is filled with excitement with the Doctor-Dalek dynamic that had been missing somewhat in the previous serial. Peter Davison is the action Doctor and he gets to do a lot here, including a failed but intriguing attempt to kill Davros. Plus we get to see the Black Dalek or the Dalek Supreme, the Dalek leader in the absence of an emperor. And aa fascinating subpolot involving the Daleks for the first time onscreen targeting the Time Lords, something that was only ever done in the classic series one other time- with the Sylvester McCoy serial Remembrance of the Daleks. Both of these 1980s serials could ve regarded as the beginning steps of the fabled Time War which serves as a backdrop to the current 2005 and 2006 series of the revived Doctor Who.
All in all, Resurrection of the Daleks is one of the better Dalek outings in years and it gets 8/10.

Firstly, the two previous statements should NOT be here. They make no reference to Resurrection of the Daleks (starring Peter Davison, Janet Fielding and Mark Strickson), but only mention the two part Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways (starring Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper). This (Resurrection) is a quite decent episode, but weak when compared to other Dalek stories, particularly those starring William Hartnell or Tom Baker. Tegan's farewell could be more heart-wrenching, Turlough is relatively unimportant and the Doctor's "humanity" is made to look like a weakness when he finds that he cannot kill Davros. Davros, however, is brilliantly played by Terry Molloy, and several of the friends that the Doctor meets in this story are well portrayed, but in the end what holds it all is a very good script (which I believe was one of star writer Robert Holmes' last). It gets about an 8 1/2 out of 10.

I cant believe it either Chris is gone. He was an excellent doctor he was brilliant in that role. there was a spark between him and rose that I dont think the new doctor will have. But I am still in shock over him not going to be there for season 2. Long live Christopher Ecclestone as one of the doctors!!!!!
