| TV-Commentary - Doctor Who |
The premise of the show
Doctor Who was about a member of a race called the Time Lords who travelled through time and space in multidimensional boxes called Tardises. On the outside a Tardis looked very small, but it had many, many rooms on the inside, since the insides were "mapped" to a separate dimension where space wasn't an issue.
This particular Doctor (who never revealed his name) liked to travel around and interfere with other races (using his powers to help people). He gathered a few companions as he explored different areas of the galaxy, traveling in time and space in his Tardis.
Unfortunately, the Time Lord authorities took a different view of his meddling, and punished him by briefly banishing him to Earth in the 20th century. After doing some favors for them he was soon back in action, and in later years the Time Lords never seemed to be bothered anymore, even though the Doctor was up to the same old tricks.

The doctor (as what I heard) is not an ordinary time lord, he might be a being called the "Other", who was present at the creation of the eye of harmony. It also been said that he was around when the Gallifrey inhabitants were still at an ape-like stage, meaning he did not orginally came from that planet. He however had made that planet his home. After the creation of the Eye of Harmony, the Other feared that he might be destroyed and threw himself into the genetic looms. The Doctor is the result years later of the Other genetic code finally recombined into a being. If these assumptions are true, the doctor is no ordinary time lord, he may be in fact THE TIME LORD. We are currently with the 10th Time lord, and this means he only has 3 more regenerations, if he is not an ordinary time lord, it might mean that the restriction of 13 lives (12 regenerations) may not apply to him. That of course, remains to be seen.

Was first aired on the day that John F. Kennedy was assasinated and was re-aired the next week. Origionally designed as a childrens history educational program it took Britiam by storm. I still remember children running through the streets crying in the dalecks unreal voice "Exterminate, exterminate. And thus legends are born.
