Why would Sisco volunteer to be locked in a box?
In "Paradise", my favorite episode of all-time, Sisco gets put in a box because he refuses to bow to the wishes of the granola chomping female ruler of that energy-free planet. When he gets out, she offers him some water, and asks him to take off his uniform.
What does he do? Drink the water? Simply refuse to take off the uniform? No! Instead, without a word, he goes back into the box!
Why would he volunteer to go back into the box! It makes you think that he actually LIKES being in the box! Obviously, he's trying to be a martyr, but his actions just end up looking silly.
One of the women tried to seduce Sisco earlier on, but his character was so wooden that he not only refused her attentions but complained to the matriarch about it!
Now, if Kirk were stranded on the planet, he would've taken the women, changed clothes (assuming something with an open shirt could have been provided) and had a grand old time until help could have arrived.
