(click here) TV-Commentary - Deep Space Nine Who could possibly want to have a worm inside them? I don't understand how the entire trill race is eager to have worms inside of them. I mean, to have this slimy thing crawling around inside you is disgusting. And not only that, but it tells you how to think and what to do--it's a form of mind control. Who wants to be controlled by a giant worm? And yet they say that trills line up for it. How did this worm relationship thing evolve? Before they were surgically implanted, how did the worms get inside the peoples' bodies? That's never explained. And how come Dax never had a bulging belly like she was pregnant when she was carrying the worm? Surely it must have taken up some space. And yet she always had a slim figure. Think of the "worm" as a "chip" with a bunch of memories that are implanted. Suddenly you recall liking coffee... but then realize you don't. It's not mind-control, it's a joining. I would compare it to waking up from an intense dream, when you still think something happened to you, but then suddenly recall that it did not. You're still you, and the dream is just a memory.
