I loved the cougar chapters. I thought this book was well ahead of its time in telling their story. Lots of TV shows and other books have come along since, but the older women in Still Waiting For The Sun seemed to be in control of their destinies more so than in reality, and I liked that.

Alot of my friends thought Jane was a push-over, and that Ronnie was uncaring, but I didn't see that at all. I thought they just needed time to get to know each other better....which they definitely did do. And the other characters...well, they were just nuts. But also alot of fun.

It was very easy to become invested emotionally in this book. I also found the characters amazing enough to befriend. Each one had a strong and distinct personality, and there seemed to be someone that just about anyone could relate to.

I see that alot of other readers had the same problem that I did, mistaking the characters from Still Waiting For The Sun for real people. Contrary to not liking it, I really enjoy getting lost in a good story. Unfortunately I don't always find such good stories to get lost in.

But we do have to admit that these are very vivid characters...they often do feel as if they are alive and real, at least they did to me.

We talk about these characters as if they are truly living individuals. Not to give anything away to anyone who hasn't finished the book yet, but I remember when I read about the passing of a certain character, and weeping. My husband came along and thought that something had happened in real life. When I explained what had happened, he laughed at me. He couldn't believe that I was crying over the death of a fictional character. But it just goes to show how deeply we come to feel about them in certain instances.

This is a marvelous book. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the characters and the setting. Still Waiting For The Sun seemed to have the perfect combination of all three, and the way the story flowed was just amazing. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read.

I love this new generation of romance novel. Every artform needs to move with the times, and I feel that many of the traditional romance novels and romance writers have not done that. Sometimes it used to feel as if I were reading the same book over and over again. That's why I enjoy the newest generation so much. It's new and fresh, and I like that.

When I read this book the first time, I actually felt awkward for a bit. I felt as if I were reading someone's diary or journal, that's how vivid and real this story seemed to me. I have since read this book again, and again, and while it still feels as if I am invading someone's personal memories, I also feel as if I were somehow invited to do so.

Still Waiting For The Sun was far from predictable in my opinion as well. It was just a surprise from page to page, right up till the end of the story. I actually liked that things didn't work out perfectly for everyone in the story. That's how it is in real life, anyway.

That's exactly what I loved about this book as well. You never knew what to expect with the turn of a page. It was just amazing at how this author was able to take a genre that we all know quite well and make it feel fresh again.

I thought it was amazing and unpredictable to read a romance like Still Waiting For The Sun where what is expected to happen doesn't always happen. Nothing is predictable, and I thought that was refreshing for a change.

I wish someone would make a movie out of this book. I think it could be a huge hit. Julia Roberts or Mary Steenburgen could play Jane Whitley. I'm not sure who would play Ronnie, though, maybe Brad Pitt or Ben Affleck? I think that just like The Thorn Birds and The Bridges of Madison County, this kind of book, Still Waiting For The Sun, does translate well to the screen.

I agree. I would be very interested to see how the various relationships develop over time. I am so looking forward to a sequel, and I have to believe that there is one coming, especially since there were so many loose strings left at the end of Still Waiting For The Sun.

Yes, I actually thought that Jane and Ron were moving slowly in their relationship until I started reading the Millicent and Roger chapters. Those guys were moving excruciatingly slow. I guess the writing was on the wall for those two.

When you find the love of your life, or even when you find A love, you should do everything in your power to get to know them. I understand that this isn't always possible, and I guess this is what bothered alot of readers regarding Roger and Millicent.

I also had a problem with those two. It's true - you only go around once in this life, and if you think you've found someone you like, it's almost your obligation to take a chance. And when you don't and you end up sad and alone, you have no one to blame but yourself.

Everytime I read a Roger De Silva/Millicent Spencer chapter, I just wanted to shake those two. You only go around once in this world, and to be so passive in your own life is not a good thing at all. Living with regrets can be a very tough thing to do.

I found the romance between Jane and Ron to be really touching and moving. I also found the relationship between Millicent and Roger to be both charming and heart-wrenching. I guess not every relationship can work out, but that's exactly what I loved about this book. It was real.

There's no doubt about it, this writer's work smolders. It is a composed smoldering, but still it smolders.
