The very worst episodes of Deep Space Nine
There are several nominees:
"Second sight", the one where Sisco falls in love with the imaginary shell-eared woman. This has to be the worst episode of all time. Very little happens in this episode while Sisco runs after the shell eared woman who turns out to be imaginary (which, given her attraction to Sisco, is no surprise). The husband of the shell eared woman turns out to be a pompous bore who kills himself at the end of the episode, and the entire episode is very, very, very slow.
The episode with the flakey skin people who want to move to Bajor. This episode was especially bad because it took half the episode before the universal translator kicked in, so for 30 minutes everyone was speaking gibberish. It was also unpleasant watching the flakey people's makeup jobs. And, of course, very little happened in this episode.
Any Vic Fontaine episode. You can tell the writing staff was running out of steam by the sixth season when they hired James Darren, a refugee from "Time Tunnel" and "TJ Hooker", to sing and offer sage advice to the DS9 crew. The "Vic" episodes, which focused solely on relationships made the show seem more and more like a cross between Melrose Place and The Love Boat.
"Progress", where Major Kira spends an hour chopping roots and carrots with Brian Keith.
The one where Lwaxana has the love child of the bald alien (Michael Ansara, who played Kang). You have to feel sorry for Ansara that he's reduced to playing such parts in his semi-retirement.

I've been watching all the episodes in order, and so far only one has made my skin crawl: "A Simple Investigation". The one where Odo falls in love with the snarky wench who tells him he has "bedroom eyes". After a whole season of not exploring Odo's new humanity, they wait until he's a shape shifter again before throwing him (inexplicably) into the sack with a wholly unappealing person. The dialogue was full of cliches, and Odo did not seem to be in character. I may have liked this slightly better had Odo still been human and exploring the physical side of himself. As it stands, it was just a weird, unwanted plot twist.

No Ferengi episodes?
The worst DS9 episode of all time combines the two concepts most susceptible to the law of diminishing returns; the 'hilarious' Ferengi and the 'fascinating' Mirror universe.
The Emperors New Cloak.
Rubbish.

You're so wrong. At least about the Vic Fontaine episodes. They are probably some of my favorite episodes. It adds much more emotion and family aspects to the whole thing. Those other episodes, you're totally right. Those episodes were boring. But Vic is one of the best characters to be made!
