(click here) TV-Commentary - Battlestar Galactica What's with the ladders in Cylon base ships? The Cylons are a very technologically advanced race of robots, right? If so, why haven't they yet invented elevators? When Apollo and Starbuck invade the Cylon baseship, they travel up and down the length of it by climbing down a long ladder! Isn't that a very slow way to move around? What if the baseship is under attack, and the gold cylon in charge is at the top and needs to climb down to the bottom? Wouldn't it take him about an hour to get there? Why don't they use elevators in their base ships? Do you think the Imperious Leader has to climb up and down a ladder to get to his office on his base ship? Why couldn't they just jack into a network and do things remotely? Where things needed something tightened or a handle jiggled, just assign the nearest unit. Why did the fighters need a crew? Why not just drop a robot brain or two into the fighter and simplify? Why? Because it's tv in the 70s, that's why.
