(click here) TV-Commentary - Space 1999 Didn't the series have great music? Space: 1999 had a great soundtrack. The opening credits music was a great example of synthasized action music. And yet most of the music of the series was classical music--violins during long Eagle spaceflights, trumpets and drums during combat scenes. Unless most contemporary science fiction series, which have low-key disposable background music, Space: 1999's music amplified the dramatic effect and made for stronger episodes.
