What went wrong with the Six Million Dollar Man?
The first season or two was really great--Steve was sent on spy missions, performing espionage, data gathering, and sabotage. And then the series started to turn more science fictiony, having Steve fight Sasquatch, and the shiny faced radioactive people. But that wasn't too bad either.
But then the series took a turn for the worst--Steve fights the moonshiners, Steve becomes a lumberjack, Steve protects Sonny Bono, Steve helps the little children get toys, etc. It seems that they were just running out of ideas; there were only so many robot and sasquatch episodes they could do.
It's a shame, because I think the series could have survived longer if it had stuck to it's "action adventure" base. What do you think?

Would Steve Austin stand a chance against any SkyNet Terminator? He might stand a chance against a T-200 SCARECROW with its limited AI. Steve would be pretty much toast by the time he worked his way up to the T-600. Though the T-600 was erratic, it is was very intelligent and a determined killer of men. Even though Steve was a cyborg he still had a plain old human brain.

The music, the music, the music! That was the number one killer of the show when the original composer died, as stated above. Lee Majors acting was fine-- I never did get or like the Bionic Woman. Who wants to see a woman beat people up, unless its Lynda Carter in a Leotard?

Martin Caidin's novel "Cyborg" portrayed Steve Austin as a hard-ass cold-blooded killer who hated being manipulated by the OSI. Considering '70's TV ehthics in censorship, the Austin character was watered down significantly, but still retained some of Caidin's original complexity. The show went wrong when it was realized by the network that the show was becoming very popular among young children, which was not their intended target audience. As a result, the writing was adjusted to include themes that children would find entertaining (Bigfoot, aliens etc). Eventually, every episode was written with the question, "Will 8-10 year olds like it?" Also, the network quickly realized the financial profitably in childrens' product merchandising (lunch-boxes, models, bedsheets etc). When the money started rolling in, there was no turning back.

I was just wondering about the shows where Steve Austin's son becomes bionic and the one where the girl becomes bionic (she runs at the speed of sound and Steve's son shoots laser beams out of his eye)If anyone can tell me about them it would be great.

I Think that the first four seasons held their own.(Despite Lee Majors mustache). But in the fifth season Steve Austin Looked older and the episodes werent as interesting. I also wonder why there weren't anymore crossover episodes.
