Lloyd Alexander was a great man. I looove the Westmark trilogy it is amazing. It is so cool that Mickle and Theo got married and so sad that Justin and Stock died.

Lloyd Alexander tragically died in his home in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania on Thursday, May 17, 2007 of cancer at the age of 83. I will forever miss him. He did write a final novel named The Golden Dream of Carlo Chuchio It is to come out this month of August, I believe. Have a good day.

Which Lloyd Alexander book does everybody like the best?

Who would recommend a book that they have never read before? Think of it this way Burra you are helping your sister to enjoy a good book. And raven you really shouldn't jump to conclusions like that.

Of course I've read the books myself! What do you take me for? I owuld never recomend a book on pain of death unless I knew it was worth it.

I would say that Westmark is best anytime you read it. But I've only read it twice. I am on a campaign to force my little sister to read The Black Cauldren after she read The book of Three. She keeps coming up with the stupidist excuses to. I even promised I'd do a little dance of happiness to entertain her if she does. --maybe that's why she won't

I did like that book. Had a touch of romance, but not to much.

Although I confess I haven't read a lot of Alexander's books, the one that I thoroughly enjoyed was The Rope Trick.

Well i read the book. I thought it was kind of lacking a plot. Probably the only reason I liked it was because I do a lot of the daydreaming that the boy does. So I felt that I could relate to that.
I did check out vesper holly once, I don't remember why I didn't read it though.
Would you say that westmark is better the second time around?

i've coerced my 10 year old sister into reading the vesper holly books. i never asked whether she liked it or not. must ask. well, i'm reading westmark again, and swooning. i haven't read a hardy, decent, Lloyd alexander book in so long, i don't know how i've lasted. but i read westmark so long ago that coming back to it, i am finding so much more depth than i remember, and probably didn't even notice before. theo's character, for one. another would be, not the evil against good, but the good against good. osh, i'm all agog.

Oh! And the Vesper Holly books, which are about as cheesy-fun as can be. It's this, you know, the "feisty red head" type, who goes around being an Indiana Jones. Much funness!
