I am currently creating a mod for the open source video game "Nexuiz" (uses an updated quake 3 engine), which will take place in the battle room in Ender's Game. The game is very flexible, so I think it will turn out great. However, I was wondering if anyone here knows the supposed dimentions of the battle room? I dont want to make it too small. Also, I was wondering how many players were in each army? This info would be very helpful. I dont know if it is in the book... its been a long time since I read it ;)

I believe that you, Mr. Card, may be the only writer today who can do justice to the story of Athaliah (mother of Ahaziah) and Joash (her grandson (KJV:Kings 2, Ch. 11); done once in the correct timeframe as Biblical fiction, and once as a sword-and-sorcery fantasy (from the viewpoint of one of those who hid and helped raise the boy).

Anyone hear any news on OSC's second volume of Ultimate Iron Man comics? the first series was fantastic but left one hanging, needing and wanting more.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this message board. I'm almost finished with "Enchantment" and I love it! Has anyone else read "Enchantment?" I recommend it if you haven't read it already.

question for anyone that knows:
i own both ender's game and speaker for the dead. both of those books are offered with many different varieties of covers. the ones i have are taller than the other editions. they're thinner and just bigger in general, probably about 8" tall, 6" wide, as opposed to normal paperbacks, which are about 6" tall, 4" wide. i can't find a copy of xenocide with that type of cover. does anyone know if it exists?

International Reading Association is proud to have Orson Scott Card as an honored speaker on the program May 1, 2006 in Chicago. This is a chance for fans to hear this author and ask questions and get your responses in person. You must be an IRA member to attend this SIG.

In Speaker for the Dead (pg 80) valentines mentions that she has a daugeter, Syfte who is 4 and a son, Ren who is 2. This is 4 years after Ender left for Lusitania. Now in the second chapter of Xenocide, 22 years after Ender has left, Syfte is 22 but has a 20 year old sister by the name of Ro ( and a 16 year old brother named Varsum). So what happened to Ren? He should be 20 if Syfte is 22 and Ro should'nt exist, unless they are twins but there was no mention of that, and plus Valentine only has 3 children it was implied in the last chapter of Speaker. Any ideas? Perhaps an Author's mistake?

I read Ender's Game as a teenager when it was published as a short story/novella in Science Fiction/Analog magazine. I would pay for a copy and shipping, if it wasn't outrageous, but the full-length novel didn't feel the same to me AT ALL. Can anyone help? Thanks. Dave

Well, those three books mostly focus on ender, Peter, and Bean when they were all younger. The other books are when they are all older they are all very good, you should try them.

Wouldnt a Battle school video game be cool? your a army member and can work your way up to commander, based around the game. Would be an online thing with player chat and battle reviews. Mods(officers) would promote people to commander. A game room for non-battle room game would be existing, basicly aonline battle school only about the game. A person could create an army if he could get 40 people to jion them and then it would start in compitions with other armys. Trianing with the army and others would be allowed. Basicly all im saying here is my ideas, but i want imput, what would make a good game invovling the battle school?
