Riker giving gifts of affection
Star Trek: Next Generation Captains Log,
continuing. Q has returned, and he has given
Riker the power of the Q. And now Riker is giving
each of us gifts of affection.
Riker said, "Now, let's see if I can guess
what each of you want." He had a more dopey than
usual expression on his face.
He turned to face Picard. "I know what you
want, my friend." He gave Picard his wide-eyed
look, there was a flash, and....
Everyone gasped. Picard touched his head.
"Yes, a full head of hair," said Riker.
"How did you know?" said Picard, choked up.
"Riker, stop it!" said Guinan.
"I know what you want," said Riker, giving her
the look.
Guinan suddenly felt different. She felt her
face, and...
"Eyebrows!" she exclaimed. "I have eyebrows!"
"Ahem," said Geordi, clearing his throat. He
pointed to his visor. He was next.
"Ah, yes," said Riker. He turned to LaForge.
"I know what you want, Geordi."
There was a flash, and a small device appeared
in Geordi's hand. "What is it?"
"Talk into it," Riker smiled. "Tell us what
shape the engines are in."
Geordi spoke into the device. "Well, the
hypersonic oscilators are maintaining a normal
parameter flow-"
Suddenly the device spoke, in Geordi's own
voice. "The engines are fine."
"Now everyone can understand what you're
saying." Riker smiled, but stopped when Dr.
Crusher started to ferry Wesley to the turbolift.
"Wait," said Riker. "Beverly, what you want
is perhaps most obvious of all." He gave her the
look. Everyone gasped.
Wesley had disappeared.
"You're welcome," said Riker, smiling.
