im doing a power point research presentation for my english project and i also had to read a book of his (I,Robot), i personally didnt like his books very much. his 3 laws were great but the over all book i thought wasnt very good because in I,Robot it was just composed of many short stories and in which you never get to know your main character(or any character in that case) very well. without being able 2 know much about ur character it makes the story less interesting, more confusing, and very boring to read...

I'm not sure about y'all...but I would love to see Peter Jackson get his teeth into the Foundation stories. It could give him 30 years of gainful employment and because of the gaps in time periods he wouldn't be locked into a small number of actors. He could work on on non-Foundation projects like the Robot novels at the same time. He did such a great job bringing Tolkein to life that I'm willing to bet he is the only guy around capable of doing Asimov justice.

It happened to me to read this awesome book, Conversations with God (by Neale Donald Walsch), and I suggest you all to read it! Really, it is something you shouldn't miss out! Now why am I talking about such a book on a website that deals with sci-fi? Well, for a science fiction fan, there are some very interesting parts in it about what is usually considered sci-fi literature (even though they're not seen as sci-fi here) and then there is a very interesting part that really reminds of what Asimov called Gaia in this book! I know you might wonder: what does Asimov have to do with this book? Well, it's almost as if he was really inspired and hit the spot when he made up Gaia and the group consciousness. I don't want to anticipate too many things, but this book (aside from Asimov and sci-fi in general) is too important not to be known by everyone!

Yeah, ive been searching all over the place for info on the movies. Heres what Ive got:

The movies will focus more on the last 2 books than the first one.
Who do you guys think theyll choose to play some of the main characters?

i've read that they are going to do two movies covering the original trilogy; hopefully, they are successfull, so that they can then do a prelude to foundation(with maybe incorporating some more elements from forward the foundation), and then I just finished reading Foundations Edge and found it to be just as good as the original foundation book(I didn't really like the whole mule thing, but this book makes him a lot more interesting), so i'm hoping for a movie on foundations edge and then foundation and earth.

Yeah, i did really like the foundation trilogy (even though i kind of prefer the additional foundation novels Asimov wrote in the 80's). The whole Asimovian saga (starting from The complete robot, then the robot novels, the empire trilogy and the foundation series) is a very good one to read. Maybe the only weakness of this saga is the empire trilogy: these novels are very slightly connected with each other and both their plot and their style is pretty rough (short for Pebble in the sky, which i really liked).

Can anyone tell me what are the additional books to Asimov's series? I mean, those books written by other sf writers that fit in the same universe of the robot series, the empire trilogy and the foundation series? As a matter of fact, i know some of these additional series, such as the robot city series, the robots and aliens series, the robots in time series,the caliban trilogy, Mark Tiedemann trilogy, the second foundation trilogy and this book Psychohistorical crisis by Kingsbury. i'd want to know if there's some other books besides them.

The book series is terrific and I'm so excited about the 'Narnia' movie coming out this December, especially after hearing the Radio Theatre versions of 'Narnia'. Anyone heard of it? This team of producers spent six years creating audio dramas of all seven 'Chronicles of Narnia'.
Audio Dramas are like movies that play in your mind -- they get dozens of actors together to record different characters, a composer does an original music score, then they add sound effects like dragons flying and Aslan's roar (where did they get these sounds anyway?)
The combination of the voices, music and sound design is totally amazing. It's like being in 'Narnia'. Because they stayed so close to the books, Narnia fans should really check out these authentic versions of C.S. Lewis' work before going to see the Walden/Disney film. Just my opinion.
Here's something cool I found out: Radio Theatre is sponsoring a booth at several music festivals this summer! You can get a CD sampler of the 'Narnia' dramas and I think they're doing giveaways too (?) These are the dates I heard:
June 28-July 1 - Creation East in PA
July 1 - Celebrate Freedom in Dallas, TX
July 27-31 - Creation West in George, WA
July 31-Aug. 3 - Kingdom Bound at Six Flags Darien Lake, NY state

WOW!!! all of his books are the best. i did a report on him and i am amazed. the Lucky Starr books are my favorites. of cource the foundation series are very good too.

this book the first part is easily understood, but i'm having trouble with the second part The Gods Themselves. the most confusing thing about it is the sexes, i can't figure out what is what and which is which. For example is the center one also called emotional and soft ones? What? i don't get these parts because they call themselves different names each time, sometimes parental as refer to tritt.i think the names given out to the sexes are too confusing. Can someone clear this out for me and sent me maybe a plot also identifieing the sexes and what each are called?

Man!! I was just looking for a review and now I ended up knowing Who is the mule and where is the second foundation, I must say you should be more carefull in the future. This just vanish any trail of surprise in the next 200 pages.
But it's in fact a very fine d. book.

this was my favorite book by asimov. his robots novels and scientific venture is by far the interesting to read on laymen level. his imagination astounds me. i also liked his short story nightfall. i've read so many of
his books. his robot series is my favorite.
