the dark side spirit that was talked about was actually a sith who followed him there and fought him, and died in the cave. in the thrawn trilogy, luke goes back to the cave and finds a active peace of technology. the sith had just activated the slave curciut on his infiltrator. the reason yoda lived so close to the cave is that the dark side energy form the sithmasked the light side energy from yoda, so he stayed there, meditating and going crazy.

He probably did stuff like meditate a lot. Maybe he brought a holocron with him or a Jedi library computer. We just never SAW it.

Yoda spent his days pleasuring himself when he wasnt trying to cut deals with Pizza The Hut and Lonestar to smuggle drugs thru the neutral zone. Thats why he went blind in Episode 7. Not because David Carradine and Chuck Norris showed up to tear him a new one.

Yoda went 2 dagobah, to go into solitude and hiding. why dagobah? because there was a powerful dark-side spirit that was present there that "cloaked" Yoda's presence from the emperor and Vader.

By Yoda's perspective he probably wasnt on Dagobah all that long. Think about it. Ever notice that as you get older there seems to be less time between Christmases? Well when you're over 900 years old the years tend to fly by more or less. So the 20 year wait probably went by faster for Yoda than Obi-Wan.

he also lipsynced to a lot of old stones albums in front of his bedroom mirror, pretending his light saber was a microphone. when that got old he watched the price is right.
take care.

You mean he spent his days polishing the beanpole?

Personally i think after he ran to Dagobah he did what all retired war heroes do. He polished his saber and other awards then he went nuts. i mean seriously look at him in AHN versus Episodes I,II,and III. I guess thats what being 900+ will do to you.

my original answer wasn't allowed, so let's just say he did something that only requires one hand and a strong wrist.

Since Yoda suffered Dementia from his close encounter with the Dark Side, he developed an acute case of Altzheimers. So basically, he what he did everyday....tried to take over the world!

I totally agree with you Dia. Plus Yoda was keeping himself unknown to the Emperor and Vader also.

Pretty much what others have already said, the appropriate stuff like eat, meditate and keep a distant eye on a young Luke. Interesting observation one person put out, was Yoda the one holding the balance of the dark and light side of the force til Luke came of age and could become a Jedi and set things right? Yoda probaly got curious as well and did a good bid of exploring around Dagobah, what with all that flora and fauna around his hobby was most likely bog eel watching and lizard teasing. That would qualify as fun when you are 900+ years old!

Yoda being the "Man" after landing his ship on dagobah probably had things other than what was seen on the sreen It would be hard to think that he just went there to do nothing but stay hidden he would still do his "Force" things And he also kept an
"Eye" on Luke while he was there
He had his ship on the planet So...

He would meditate, maintaining the balance of the Force within Himself. He would enlighten others through masterfully crafted messages sent by way of the Force, calling shots to key officials in various institutions through the use of the Force and common technologies...And to jake_mcaga - When's the next transport leaving for Dagobah?
