TV-Commentary - Star Wars Really safe to leave Luke with Darth Vader's brother? We were told that Luke was left with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Veru. But if Owen was really his Uncle, that would mean he was Darth Vader's brother, right? (Alternatively, he could be the brother of Princess Amidala, but he probably wouldn't be living so dirt poor if he were). So if Obi Wan Kenobi were trying to hide Luke from Darth, why give him over to Darth's brother? Wouldn't that be one of the first places Darth would look? Don't you think Darth would check up with all his relatives to search for his kid? What's the story with that?
